VACCINATION INFORMATION:
-DHPP: This vaccine is recommended for all dogs and protects against Canine Distemper, Canine
Hepatitis, Canine Parvovirus, and Canine Parainfluenza Virus. It is recommended that the DHPP vaccine be boostered every 2-4 weeks up until the patient is 16 weeks of age or older. There are 3 rounds of the DHPP vaccine included in all puppy packages.
-RABIES:This vaccine helps to prevent rabies infections and the spread of rabies. This vaccine is also
required by law and is included in all puppy packages.
-BORDETELLA:This Vaccine help prevent one of the organisms that cause kennel cough, Bordetella
bronchiseptica. This is included in all puppy packages. Although this vaccine is very effective in preventing kennel cough, breakthrough cases can happen but having your pet vaccinated helps your pet experience less severe symptoms and recover faster.
-CIV (Canine Influenza Bivalent):This vaccine is for two strains of the Canine Influenza Vaccine. This is recommended for
dogs that go to dog parks, boarding, grooming, training, or any other areas where there are a lot of dogs gathering. This vaccine is recommended to be boostered 3-4 weeks after the initial vaccination. The patient is not considered protected until 2 weeks after the second dose. Although this vaccine is very effective in preventing canine influenza, breakthrough cases can happen but having your pet vaccinated helps your pet experience less severe symptoms and recover faster.
-LEPTO (Leptospira):This vaccine is recommended for dogs that go to dog parks, camping, hiking, hunting, or that do other
outdoor activities. This bacteria can cause severe liver and kidney disease and is transmissible to
humans. Pets generally acquire this infection from contact with urine from infected animals. It is recommended to booster this vaccine 3-4 weeks after the initial vaccination.
-LYME:This is a disease that is spread by ticks that can cause fevers, joint pain, and kidney damage. This
is recommended for dogs that go to areas with high numbers of ticks. It is recommended to booster this vaccine 3-4 weeks after the initial vaccination.
-FECAL TEST: We send a fecal sample from your patient to our lab to be tested for intestinal parasites.
-DEWORMING: The deworming provided in the puppy packages covers roundworms and hookworms.
